From our children

Over the years the children that we care for often produce wonderful pieces of art or writings. Here you will find a just a few examples of the works that so often touch our hearts.

Poetry has always been a way to express feelings these are so examples.

My Final Goodbye

Our lives crossed,
And our destinies were forever altered.
My mind was seared with your memory,
I cannot forget you, no matter how hard I try,
But this must be my final goodbye.

Our paths followed the same winding road
And our destinations forced us apart
As my heart was torn from my hollow chest,
Yet I cannot remember why
So I guess this is my final goodbye.

Our journeys have changed
And our futures remain unclear.
My pain has been buried on this shelf with my tears.
I cannot hold onto this hope, it hurts too much to cry
As I tell you that this is to be my final goodbye.

Open my eyes

Open my eyes and see nothing but pain,
Hurry and close them just to open and see the same.
Walk out into the world of nothing but sorrow,
I have to stay calm with hope for a better tomorrow.

Just when I want to give up and cry,
Something says all your hopes aren’t ready to die.
All of a sudden that same hope I once had in my life,
Returns and cuts the doubts away like a knife.

Waiting for the pleasure of another better day,
But I feel that the pain and sorrow are here to stay.
Soon enough the hope seems to fade away,
Leaving me with nothing to do or nothing to say.

When the doubt darkens your day,
Find the hope you need to chase the darkness away.
God is our hope, refuge, and love.
